You can easily stream a video from your iPhone, iPad or iPod to your Mac. The trick is to use AirPlayer. AirPlayer basically creates a custom Bonjour AirPlay service and pretends to be an Apple TV. AirPlayer thus lets you use the built in support of AirPlay in your Phone, iPad or iPod to send the video to Mac.
To start streaming video to Mac from your iPhone, iPad or iPod, first download AirPlayer. Extract the downloaded file and drag the AirPlayer app to the Applications Folder. Then double click on it to open it. Click Start AirPlay Service. Your Mac will now show in the AirPlay menu whenever you play a video. To start streaming, select the white arrow and click the connected Mac.
