In Office 2011, when you open Word, Excel or PowerPoint, Office Gallery opens by default. If you want Word to open a blank document, Excel to open a blank workbook, and PowerPoint to open a blank presentation. then it can be done easily.
Prevent Gallery from opening on launch in Word, PowerPoint or Excel
First open Word (or Excel or Powerpoint). Gallery will open by default. Select the option that says, Don’t show this when opening Word (or Excel or Powerpoint).
Now select the blank document (or workbook or presentation) and click on the Choose button. That’s it. Now Gallery will not open when launching Word, PowerPoint or Excel.
