How To Do This At Home
Microwaves can’t be seen by naked eye, so its impossible to see them inside the microwave oven. But you can use neon lamps to detect their presence. It starts by drilling a grid in a piece of an acrylic and then slipping the lamps in.
As the plate turns, the changing electromagnetic field in the microwave creates the movement of charged particles, which is basically current, thus making the lamps glow.
