Configure firefox to always use proxy
Its a good idea to configure firefox to use proxy everytime it makes any connection to the web. It has two benefits, firstly, you are browsing anonymously , that is, your IP is not logged anywhere. Secondly, you can access blocked sites easily in school, college or office.
To configure firefox to always use proxy, you should have the IP address of the proxy server that you want to use. If you just have the sitename (or hostname or domainname) of the proxy, like www.kproxy.com, then determine IP address from the hostname. There are many more methods to determine IP from the hostname. For instance, one of the method uses the ping utility to get the IP address from hostname. You can read more about this trick here.
Now that you have the IP address of the proxy, open firefox and go to Tools->Options->Advanced and click on the Network tab. Now click on the settings button.
Now choose the Manual proxy configuration radio button and enter the IP address of the proxy server,
Enter other proxy servers’ IPs if you want to or simply check the checkbox which says Use this proxy server for all protocols.
That’s it. Have fun.
