If you are not a premium or paid user on file sharing sites, like rapidshare, megaupload, mediafire etc. then you need to go through a few unnecessary and annoying steps before you can download anything. For Rapidshare you have to wait for the timer, for megaupload you have to fill the captcha then wait for 60 seconds, for mediafire you have to wait for several seconds until it “prepares your download” and so on. Actually they force you to wait for a few seconds to improve the CTR (click through rates) on the ads on their sites. They have to get some revenue from free users in some way or the other.
