Google is shutting down Google Pages services and all the existing pages from Google Pages will be moved to Google sites automatically. This migration will begin sometime in May and the Google Pages service will be closed completely in June 2009.
An important thing to note here is that Google will only take care of the URL redirection of the pages, it won’t move the files you uploaded. This is because Google Sites do not provide any hosting. So you should backup all your files from Google Pages before May.
How To Backup All Your Files From Google Pages?
Google has created an online service that lets you download all the files hosted on your Google Pages account.
If the URL of your Google Pages site is
http://yourname.googlepages.com,
then open the page,
http://pages.google.com/migrationInfo/yourname
in your browser. This will open the Google Pages Exporter. You can download all your files by clicking on the download link below the Download site option,

Note that you can access the Google Pages Exporter only if you are logged into your Google Account.
